In this post, I’ll share my personal experience at Willow Tree, from the breathtaking views to the exciting overnight camping journey. So grab your camping gear and get ready for an unforgettable outdoor adventure!

Located just a short distance away from the bustling city center of Kuala Lumpur, Willow Tree Camping site offers a tranquil retreat in the lap of nature. Situated in the verdant hills of Malaysia, this camping site is a scenic drive of approximately 50 kilometers from Kuala Lumpur. The average driving time to reach Willow Tree from the heart of the city is around one and a half hours, making it an easily accessible destination for both local and international campers.

Willow Tree Camping site offers a range of packages tailored to meet the needs of every outdoor enthusiast. Whether you’re a seasoned camper or a first-timer, there’s something for everyone. From basic tent rentals to fully equipped camping packages, Willow Tree ensures that you have everything you need for a comfortable and enjoyable camping experience.

The campsite boasts excellent facilities, including clean washrooms with hot showers, communal cooking areas with barbeque pits, and cozy communal spaces for socializing and making new friends. Additionally, they provide secure parking facilities for campers’ convenience and peace of mind.

Upon arriving at Willow Tree, I was greeted by a sprawling camping area offering a variety of picturesque spots to set up camp. As a camping enthusiast, I chose a camping lot (you can select your preferred camping slot during the booking process) that was at the highest point of the camping area, which provided breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. A hammock was nearby so that’s definitely a plus for having that spot. The camping site offered a generous amount of space, ensuring privacy and tranquility for each camper.

During my stay, I noticed the creativity and enthusiasm of fellow campers. One group had gone the extra mile and adorned their camping area with twinkling lights, creating a magical ambiance under the starry night sky.

As dusk settled over the campsite, I sat outside on a comfortable chair, reveling in the peaceful atmosphere. The night sky illuminated with stars, and the air was filled with the sounds of nature. That night, it started raining heavily. To my surprise, even though it was raining heavily with thunderstorms and strong winds, the temperature remained surprisingly pleasant. I marveled at the power of nature, feeling a deep connection to the elements surrounding me.

One of the highlights of my camping experience at Willow Tree was capturing the awe-inspiring moments of the sunset and sunrise. Setting up a time-lapse, I watched in wonder as the sky transformed into a canvas of vibrant colors, painting the horizon with shades of pink, orange, and gold. The tranquility of the misty morning, blanketing the hills in a soft embrace, created a surreal and captivating sight that will forever be etched in my memory.

Additionally, the mobile reception is extremely poor to non-existant, so if you need a “forced-escape” from your devices and the internet, this is the place to be. I had a wonderful experience camping at Willow Tree Campsite. It’s a great place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and reconnect with nature. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a unique and memorable camping experience.

Mobile Coverage
Do note that mobile coverage is almost non-existent here (Hulu Langat). Be prepared for a phone-less camping experience over here, which could be a blessing in disguise. Waze and Google Maps may stop working as well upon nearing the campsite at Hulu Langat.
