Day 1 Part 2: Lukla to Phakding – Everest Base Camp + Video
This second part of Day 1 covers the adventure from Lukla airport, the town and straight to the town of Phakding. The spirit, determination and sense of curiosity is still high at this point. The journey from Lukla to Phakding was breathtaking and the people I met along the way were extremely friendly.
Day 1 Part 1: Kathmandu to Lukla – Everest Base Camp + Video
In April 2016, I spent the longest (and one of the coldest) trekking trip in my entire life to reach Everest Base Camp. The whole journey took around 8 days to reach the base camp, and another 5 just to get back to Lukla. This first post will cover our journey from Kathmandu to Lukla.
Viper Challenge 2015 – Sepang International Circuit + Video
Viper Challenge 2015 was held at Sepang International Circuit, an obstacle course of up to almost 21km. I was actually very excited for the 22 obstacles ahead of me as I’ve always been a huge fan of obstacle courses and events such as this. The crowd, team-work and the camaraderie among strangers made the whole experience so much better.
Gunung Datuk – Group Training Before Mont Kota Kinabalu
This was the very last hike together at Gunung Datuk before our attempt for Mont Kinabalu in 10 days, making this a quite memorable hike with a relatively large group of friends. This will be my 5th trip to Mont Kinabalu, this time being accompanied with the largest group of hiking buddies (21 fellow hikers).
Gunung Angsi – Boxing Day (Christmas Edition) + Video
Labeled as The boxing day Angsi climb, for obvious reasons, a group of 7 decided to summit Gunung Angsi (Ulu Bendul). Our just recent act of gluttony a day prior to this probably inspired us to venture into a silent agreement that this trip was a great idea to burn off that extra calories.
Gunung Angsi – Revisited (After the First One) + Video
This is my second visit to Gunung Angsi via Ulu Bendul after being introduced by a dear friend, around a week before. It goes without saying that new unexplored mountains are definitely worth exploring repeatedly during a short span of time. Taking into account the probability of you getting lost and the brand new discoveries, it’s best to take advantage of the level of excitement while it lasted.
Gunung Datuk – The Very Beginning
Deemed the very first hike for me personally to a proper mountain – Gunung Datuk . It was also the first official hike together as a group before our first attempt for Mont KK. All of us were first timers to Mont KK except Isa who has attempted this magnificent mountain in Sabah, Malaysia a few months ago.
Bukit Tabur East – The Early Days
This is by far one of the oldest and earliest memories I had when I started exploring the hills and mountains around KL / Selangor. Being an absolute greenhorn in outdoor activities accompanied by a group of crazy adventurous companions, I embarked upon this hiking trip up to Bukit Tabur East on a great Saturday morning.
