Day 7 Part 1: Dingboche to Memorial Ground at Thokla Pass – Everest Base Camp + Video
Dingboche to Memorial Ground at Thokla Pass – My very first authentic snow-in-the-background trekking experience. We started the journey by waking up to a white spectacle. It snowed throughout the night and covered all of Dingboche. The journey to Lobuche took around 4 hours, covering a distance of 7.9km with a gain of elevation of 500m.
Day 6 Part 2: Nangkartshang Peak Descent & Snow in Dingboche – Everest Base Camp + Video
Started our Nangkartshang Peak Descent back to Dingboche after spending around half an hour at Nangkartshang Peak. Definitely coming back up here in the future if time permits. Normal trekking time up to the top is around 2 hours based on what I’ve read online, 3 hours isn’t that bad I guess.
Day 6 Part 1: Dingboche and Nangkartshang Peak Acclimatization – Everest Base Camp + Video
Dingboche and Nangkartshang Peak Acclimatization (5,083m). It took me around 3 hours to summit and Nangkartshang Peak was our second acclimatization exercise. The third and final would be Kala Patthar (5,545m), located at Gorak Shep (5,164m).
Day 5: Tengboche to Dingboche – Everest Base Camp + Video
My chronicles from Tengboche to Dingboche. Arrived in Tengboche (3,900m) around half past two in the afternoon after a roller coaster journey from Namche Bazaar. The first view of Tengboche was painted by Tengboche’s monastery, also known as Dawa Choling Gompa.
Day 4: Namche Bazaar to Tengboche – Everest Base Camp + Video
Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3,900m) took us around 4 hours to reach (9.6km) and gained us around 400m in elevation, going through paths beside mountains, towns, more yaks, great sceneries and the 5th suspension bridge. Never been excited to see suspension bridge in my entire life.
Day 3 Part 2: Sagarmatha National Park – Everest Base Camp + Video
After tea-time, we headed back down to Namche Bazaar, but not before dropping by at Sagarmatha National Park, a world heritage site since 1979. This park houses a few distinguishable figures and scultures such as the memorial stupa of Sherpa Tenzing Norgay and a 2-stone-scultupre.
Day 3 Part 1: Namche Bazaar to Syangboche – Everest Base Camp + Video
We stayed an extra day at Namche for our acclimatization right up to Syangboche’s highest point (3,841m) which granted us a clearer view of Everest, Lhotse and Ama Dablam. Namche Bazaar to Syangboche took us approximately 2 hours, but we stopped by at few locations such as Syangboche’s airstrip, and some of the resorts up there to have a cup of tea.
Day 2 Part 2: Namche Bazaar – Everest Base Camp + Video
We reached Namche Bazaar (3,440m) close to 3 in the afternoon after a long trek from Phakding. Reaching Namche is by far the best significant landmark to reach so far, a heaven-like place. It greeted us with an enchanting walkway coupled with a number of “mini fountains”, giving you that very welcoming experience. We also had our first faint glimpse of Mt Everest in the distance.
Day 2 Part 1: Phakding to Namche Bazaar – Everest Base Camp + Video
This is the 3rd post and will capture my journey from Phakding to Namche Bazaar. Didn’t expect it to be this long initially but managed to reach Namche around close to 3 in the afternoon with a nice mixture of cold breeze and the warm sunny afternoon.

Day 9: Gorak Shep to Everest Base Camp (EBC)
Trekking to Everest Base Camp is a journey of a lifetime, and the final stretch from Gorak Shep to Everest Base Camp is a culmination of weeks of hard work and determination. The emotions that come with finally reaching the final destination are indescribable, a mix of elation, exhaustion, and accomplishment.
Day 8: Kala Patthar Acclimatization (Part 2)
Kala Patthar acclimatization starts from the village of Gorak Shep, which is the last stop before reaching the base camp of Mount Everest. From Gorak Shep, the trail to Kala Patthar begins with a steep climb through rocky terrain and boulder fields. The ascent is steep and can be challenging, especially at high altitude, but the trail is well-marked and easy to follow.
Day 8: Lobuche to Gorak Shep (Part 1)
The scenery on the journey from Lobuche to Gorak Shep is truly breathtaking. As you trek through the Khumbu valley, you will be surrounded by the majestic peaks of the Himalayas. The trail winds through beautiful alpine forests, which are home to a variety of wildlife, including Himalayan thar, musk deer, and yaks. As you gain altitude, the vegetation becomes sparser, giving way to rocky terrain and glacial rivers.
